As much as we would love to offer a personalized service to each of our clients, we understand that your location and other factors may prevent you from coming in to our hair clinic for a hair system or wig fitting. If this is the case, please know that you have the option to purchase one of our lace wigs and or partial lace pieces online.
Please follow the guidelines outlined here to help choose the best option(s) for you. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us via phone, email and/or our chat option located at the bottom right corner of your screen.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT LENGTH FOR YOU:
When you’re ready for your very first wig or an addition to your current wig wardrobe, there are many ways to go about selecting the right wig for you. Often, the style that you look for is one that works best with your lifestyle. And often the best way to start is choosing wigs by length.
Your activity level, lifestyle and time availability for styling will be a main driver in the length you choose. If you are an active person who doesn’t want to spend a lot of time getting ready, you may lean toward a shorter wig that doesn't require much styling, or a longer wig that can be easily tied back. Longer lengths and especially lace front wigs, will give you the option of pulling the hair away from your face while still maintaining a natural look. This includes ponytails for more active individuals who still want long locks. Just keep in mind that if you’re not used to long hair, the extra volume can take some time to learn how to style and protect. Also keep in mind that shorter hair may be harder to pull back, if that is how you like to wear your hair.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT COLOUR FOR YOU:
1. Avoid going more than two shades lighter or darker than your natural hair colour.
Going too light or too dark will be dramatic, but might not be the best result for you.
If you want a dramatic change, consider making gradual changes by going lighter or darker a little at a time. The great advantage of wearing wigs is that you can easily get to the color you want without chemically damaging your hair.
2. When going blonde, consider what color your hair was when you were a child
If you were blonde when you were a child, chances are blonde will also work for you as an adult. Go a little darker than the shade you used to be, in order to look best with your current skin tone.
3. Goldenhighlights brighten your complexion and make you look more youthful.
If your hair is auburn, choose copper highlights. Natural brunettes look best with caramel, and blondes look best with honey tones. Synthetic wig fibers and human hair products are pre-blended with these natural looking highlights. Wearing wigs enables you to achieve salon colors much easier and less costly than salon color applications on your natural hair.
4. Choose a shade that looks great with your skin tone and eye color.
For the most natural look, choose a color that's close to your own or slightly lighter. As we age, our skin tone tends to look a little washed out, but choosing the right hair color can help us look younger.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT TEXTURE FOR YOU:
1. Straight Hair
This one is pretty simple, if you have straight hair and love the way it looks, go with a naturally straight wig that will air dry or blow dry to straight texture.
2. Wavy and Curly Hair
Now this is where the situation gets a bit tricky. If you have straight hair, then wearing wavy extensions should not be a problem, as they will blend in with your own hair. The same applies for women who have wavy or curly hair.
So where does it get tricky? Some women are naturally curly and have a very specific hair texture, which prevents extensions from blending in properly. Of course, you can always use a hair weaver and style both your hair and extensions so they match. However, if you are one of the lucky ones, consider going with straight hair (yes, straight) and then asking your hair stylist to curl it. The result? An awesome hairstyle!
